Have you ever gotten stuck trying to question why God wouldn’t just make Himself physically present by your side so that He may take away all your inner doubt over His actual existence? Being just a bridge to the gap of understanding, this brief digest makes an effort in bringing you to the point of addressing this valid concern - hopefully, it will be able to do just that.
Romans 1:19-20: “… since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities - His eternal and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what He has made, so that people have no excuse”
Just the other day, it came upon me uniquely to think on how God primarily exists in the unseen dimension. It probably gave me 0.01% of an idea (or even less) of why He chose it to be this way. I humbly invite you to read through this one.
At this, let us take a moment to consider how much it takes from you and me to be constantly visible - doesn’t it take a lot? On the average day, you find yourself trying to act ‘normal’ in an effort to perhaps ‘please’ others while on another day; you find yourself in a situation where you just want to disappear: Disappear from the eyes and lips that actually praise you more than it helps you to be praised since you know that deep down, everything you are or have done has only come from an unsearchable outflow of personality - goodness that is God-given, love that is God derived, creativity that is God-inspired deep-down, abundance that comes from He who flows within you, etc.
All this bother comes about because of one main thing - you are visible; not your own making but God’s making.
At this, you can now consider God Himself: How much more would everyone be distracted were He to constantly display Himself physically in His infinite magnificence? How much more would we worship Him for what He looks like rather than for what He’s actually done for us beyond our sight and touched?
God would have definitely had to bind Himself within the confines of what only benefits our eyes. I mean; daily, He would be like; “Ah, let me go out and chill with my human folks: I mean; I’m indeed all-powerful and all-knowing; so, let me go till all their lands. Let me go sweat it out for them so that they only have to eat. In fact, I’ll also feed them because I’m still the one who enables them to actually get nourished by what they ingest and digest. I certainly have to live up to what I physically claim to be, right?” This should then bring you to a better understanding of what Jesus Christ was able to achieve; with Him being the exact physical expression of God. He surely did it all for us. That's why He ended it all by saying "It is finished"'; meaning that every work God had prescribed to creation and specifically, men; had been accomplished in Jesus Christ.
Anyway; much to our benefit; God’s understanding, as Isaiah admits in Isaiah 40:28, none of us can fathom. He chooses to go about this matter this beautifully and orderly: He empowers each of us with a individually-tailored humanly portion His infinite Spiritual personality so that by His Spirit working within us; we are able to till gardens, plant vineyards and establish civilizations which we ourselves get to benefit from by His grace. This was of course made possible by Jesus Christ; who made us worthy of being used by God to give actual physical expression to His already-fulfilled; incorruptible desires.
On our part, we are only called to acknowledge one thing: we don’t see the one we honour; we honour Him who though unseen, has made us this sufficient such that He only needs to flow through us in order to fulfill His ultimate desires for us. It makes His eternal work wonderfully effortless that it actually becomes His rest - specifically when we remain obedient to Him - and our own efforts all the more fulfilling - it becomes our rest as well (inner rest of the soul).
With all certainty, we are His image. It’s only that our way of functioning is the exact opposite of His way in that Him; being infinitely sufficient; works best as the unseen, all-reaching personality (this saves us a great deal of distraction) while us; being a mere image of Him; work best when observed. I mean; what image works best when hidden under a table? On the other hand, what original thing works better when it reduces itself to a mere portrait than when it works behind the scene to constantly replicate its goodness? - Think about it.
At this, we should then be able to afford ourselves this plain, grave realization: It rarely makes sense to the average human when they come across a fellow human being who actually operates as an image of the original being who is God. With where the world is at the moment; genuine Godliness has almost been shown the exit, and it keeps getting worse by the day. It’s all because we rely too much on our sight - only focusing on sensually pleasing things as it began with Eve - rather than the Spirit that drives and facilitates the good things we get to see.
Beauty doesn’t really lie in the eyes of the beholder; it lies in the intricate, well-propelled, overall move of God’s Spirit; He who in fact gives us beauty for ashes - can the average beholder say that ash is beautiful? It’s the Spirit sustaining the ash (the utterly broken soul) that makes the ash beautiful; not the eyes that physically behold the ash.
1 Corinthians 8:6: “… yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live”
In this case, seek to do it; not so that you may receive the honour of men; but so that God may receive all the glory and honour through you. It's so much more satisfying this way and not at all wearisome, I'm telling you. It is only God, the invisible Spirit, who thrives on being honored. His food is surely our genuine display of His image; His ultimate food is our genuine worship of Him. Worshiping God basically means proving Him as being worthy of displaying Himself through our vessels through His songs, intellect, mercies, joy and laughter; dance, etc (surely, as Scripture says, it is not me who lives but Christ Himself lives through me according to God's unique purpose for me). On the other hand, our food is what He lets come our way from Him after He receives His glory and honour through us. Let You alone receive all the glory and honour, Lord, not me!

It would suit you to follow up this study with the study on 'The Master Spirit, ministering spirits and manifest spirit' under 'General Truths' category. It should be able to bring you to a fair level of understanding if you take your time on this.
