A CHILD OF THE SOIL

Here is one uniquely timeless revelation which should serve as a guiding tool to help us re-connect with our most genuine identity as human beings; an identity unveiled in Genesis 2:7.

Think of how the earth resembles your structure and build as a human being or rather; think about how you resemble the earth in structure and build as a human being. I mean; isn’t it just marvelous how both man and earth have 70 % of water-mass; or how the earth is able to teem with diverse vegetation based on the seeds that are buried within it’s graveyard across different seasons in the same way that we are all able to channel out different skills, personalities and even physical realities based on the actual words that we get to absorb on a daily basis?

In this case, words; just like seeds; get buried within our hearts for remembrance as our minds begin to work out the optimization process so that we may be able to produce different kinds of fruit during different seasons of our lives all the way from childhood through adulthood (as a child, you are taught on how to sit, stand, walk, talk and interact with your surroundings while as an adult; you are basically taught on how to be a responsible, productive one).

On the other hand, there’s also this deep gravitational pull within earth which can never be fully satisfied as earth will always keep on drawing back to it anything and everything that comes from it in the same way that man always has a way of drawing to his heart anything and everything that has the capability to satisfy any of his natural desires. In this way; I guess we can be able to agree that both the man and earth have a heart (Jesus in fact recognizes the heart of the earth in Matthew 12:40); a kind of centralized gravitational force acting within them (surely; as earth receives light so as to germinate seeds; man receives light in the form of wisdom and knowledge in order to produce good fruit in his life).

Certainly, other intricate similarities exist between us and our mother land which can be able to point any sober mind towards one conclusion: There’s a formula to all this; it definitely isn’t a coincidence that we all resemble earth to this good extent. There is a kind of creation that was carried out at a given point in time so as to set things well on this overall course. There is a God up above who; having looked down at earth in the ages past; thought it wise to plant the ultimate seed within the womb (the grave or heart) of earth so that in the same manner that earth had brought forth all kinds of plants and animals through the planting of other kinds of seed; God’s most unique seed would be brought forth from earth’s fertile womb: man.

Truly so, we are sons of the soil and this is why we resemble earth in so many ways. We are one with earth as we are also one with God. In the same way that man and woman are able to produce a child who gets to carry an image of each parent; God used earth as the womb to bring forth His ultimate offspring, His image and also earth’s image, who is man. God's vast spiritual expression manifests as earth's vast physical expression. In this way, God gets to mold earth into anything He desires in His vast mind in the same way that He's able to mold any willing man into anything He desires the man to be.

This shouldn't then by any means sound like a coincidence or mystery: the fact that we have 70% of our bodies covered with water, a heart within us that is able to consume any kind of seed (word) and produce different kinds of fruit and an inward gravitational pull within our hearts which has all kinds of desires for anything and everything (In this case, God is the only one who can satisfactorily fulfill our heart’s desires. Think also of how your heart can in fact feel like a graveyard). Last but not least, buried deep within earth are also different kinds of treasure and precious metals which on our part as human beings manifest as different kinds of talents and special abilities which are in this case buried deep within our essence. These are the main attributes that we obtain from earth.

In this case, the earth is very much alive. It is alive because God poured out a unique (reproductive) expression of His vastly expressive Spirit into it to enable earth serve its unique role of facilitating reproduction.

On the other hand, we bear as well unique God-given attributes. These attributes are contained within our souls: our inner, intangible but well-appreciable identity. Within our souls, we have the mind which basically gives us the capacity to analyze different matters as God Himself would; emotions which give us the capacity to relate with God on an intimate level as a father would with his own son and willpower which enables us to make independent decisions; whether these are purely rational, purely emotional or well-balanced; as God Himself also would. In this way, we will all be subjected to account for our decisions at a given point.

Thus, God gives us His essence and power which work from within us while earth gives us a covering which is able to contain this essence and power as well as facilitate God’s overall desire by means of replication, announcement and ultimately; a humble expression of thanks-giving to God who made all this possible. Surely, we are all children of God and children of the soil; we only need to work towards establishing a balance of attributes so that we may be able bring about the fullness of God’s essence on display on earth. To this extent, we weren’t able to do so as men like Scripture puts it:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” - Romans 3:23.

Good for us, God; in His ultimate display of grace and mercies; allowed His one and only Son to be born of a woman or rather; born of earth. Having facilitated this, God was able by default to display His well-balanced, glorious nature (bringing a perfect balance between the principles that govern heaven and those that govern earth) so that the fullness of His essence got displayed on earth for all of creation to see: Think of how Jesus Christ was able to just command everything; from storms, to fish and even to water which became wine; to work to His good pleasure. This was the original mandate of God on Adam; dominion; well on display.

On the other hand, God’s Son was also able to satisfy earth’s ultimate gravitational demand for justice which had initially been brought about when the ground got cursed on account of Adam’s sin (Genesis 3:17). Being the Lord God, Jesus Christ was in fact the one who pronounced this original curse (which was God’s move of love not to totally do away with man but also to keep him from bringing utter destruction on himself by limiting earth from responding positively to man’s corrupted desires). In this case, only Jesus had the capacity to satisfy earth’s ultimate desire for justice so as to keep the souls of all men from descending eternally into hell on account of sin (He was the only one fully capable of reversing the curse). We only need to believe in Jesus Christ that He is the Son of God and that He did this for us.

Thus, in my little understanding of the matter, I can conclude on my part that earth in itself is a vast physical expression of God's vast mind; a little brain-child that is able to work in order to physically display whatever thoughts God has in His mind. At this, earth has only been limited to vanity for a time on account of man's (the offspring) corrupted dealings but it will definitely be restored to its full glory which in this case will be an exact expression of God's full glory. This is in keeping with Scripture in Habakkuk 2:14:

"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea" - the accomplishment of this feat is linked to man. We need as men to come to the knowledge of the glory of God.

Let us give good thought to this discussion as we begin to gradually bring ourselves to the realization of our unique identity as men and women in this age: children of the Most High God and yet; humble offspring of earth. Let us seek after restoring our balance of attributes so that we may be able to finally display the glory of God in its fullness. Let us seek to learn true living from the Man Himself; Jesus Christ.
